stutter in all games - Page 2

you could try pulling one of the sticks of ram and see if that makes a difference. (Different voltages always make me nervous)

I've had microstutter before and disabling vsync fixed it for me. after the next driver update I tried to enable it again, and there was no problem.

also you could try pulling the video card and try just using onboard gfx just to see if thats the problem

also if your playing on a TV the problems might be because the resolution is different, I'm not quite sure how to explain it but on my TV source in Catalyst it has an "HD-TV" resolution that I can select, and on my 720p tv I need to select the resolution as 1000 not 720 or it causes problems.

hope this helps

Tell me, What slot is the graphics card in?

I have stuttering too but on my MOBO the bottom slot with my gfx card only runs in PCI-E x4 and its the only thing i can blame tbh.

I've found that disabling core parking helped remove stutter. This isn't a common problem in all games though. The best way to remove core parking is via registry hack.
What you do is a registry search for this key: 0cc5b647-c1df-4637-891a-dec35c318583
Locate the ValueMax sub key and change it's Hexadecimal value from 64 to 0.
Hit the F3 key to find the next key and change the valuemax sub key value to 0. Repeat this a few more times.
Shutdown the PC
Start the PC

Here is an example using winrar with core parking on and off.

thanks for all your tips guys, i havnt tried monitor as i lost the stupid wire, i have tried pulling ram sticks, no joy with that, memtest i ran and got 3 passes, it just takes so long, i have 8 gb so just ran 4 windows of memtest as it only tests 4gb per test, so i just ran 4 times is that correct way to test,.@maxftw the card is in the slot nearest the cpu., im pretty sure its the 16x slot, the only slot i have not tried is the one furthest from the cpu, as my case wont let it fit, is the core parking thing safe EASTCOAST?, sounds weird, do you think you can explain to me a bit why this happens and how it works

What are your temps like for both cpu and gpu? Is it possible that you're not getting enough airflow? What case are you using?

its a very cheap 15 pound case, but ive got all the wires nice and tidy, and have a fan at the front of the pc, one on the back and one on the side, temps on the hd 6950, is never over 60c, ive ran them both through testing and both seem stable, cpu is ok too, im using gpu-z and core temp
