800D Successor

Thread Starter
I will soon be in the market for a new case. I don't necessarily have a budget, but I would prefer to stay away from the $400+ range (caselabs), even though they're great if not the best for water cooling.

I really like the 800D, but it seems to be used and abused.

To keep it simple...

Does anyone know of any information regarding an 800D successor?

The Switch 810, heard it was going to be out in a few weeks.

No one knows since they just revealed the plans for the 2 smaller cases at CES 2012.

Personally I think that the flexibility with the 800D is great.

That's a pretty nice looking case. I'll have to look into it more. Thanks

Extremely flexible, but just about everything you can do to it has been done before. I'd like something fresh. thumb.gif

As mentioned, Corsair released smaller cases of this same series, so I doubt there is going to be a successor anytime soon. As mentioned you should look into the Switch 810. Looks extremely promising and compatible with watercooling if that's what you're into. It's not aluminum, and it does have glossy plastic, which can be a big con for some. Personally, I find the case beautiful.

Yeah, I'd prefer to stay away from plastic, but it is indeed a nice looking case.

Am I wrong in thinking that we should see the standard switch from 3-120mm fan space up top to 4-120mm? It seems like the logical path for an enthusiasts case.

We're not ignoring the full tower segment, trust me. We're just not going to half-ass it. Any new full tower from Corsair will be fully assed. You have my word.

I currently have a Thermaltake Element G and I'm looking to upgrade to a full-tower case here very soon, and the NZXT Switch 810 is looking pretty good atm. My rig is air-cooled atm, but I plan on going custom W/C in the future.. CPU single loop first. I've been eyeballing the 800D for ages now it seems.. Also been interested in the CM HAF-X and the Storm Trooper. Even tho the 800D has been out for over 2 years now, it's still a really killer case and would love to have it.. The price of the Switch 810 is making it VERY tempting tho. Seems like a killer price for what the Switch 810 offers.. smile.gif
