Annoying one short beep

Thread Starter
I build my PC from new parts

Asus M5A99X EVO
AMD CPU PHEN2 X6 1100T SAM3 BOX/125W 3300 HDE00ZFBGRBOX
Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB, DIMM,1600MHz, DDR3,CL9,XMP,Non-ECC,with red Heatsink
PSU: AU-650M
512MB GeForce 8500GT (this is from my old PC, i will buy new one)
SSD 40GB
HDD 1GB
HDD 250GB
cooler master 430 black elite
Windows 7 Ultimate
http://i.imgur.com/e5FmZ.jpg

Everything works fine, only i have one problem every time i turn my PC on there is annoying one short beep (with red "BOOT_DEVICE_LED" light on, on motherboard) before windows loading screen

Any idea why is that?

A single short beep, is a code saying "everything is working!" This is normal for modern systems with a speaker attached. You may be able to shut off the beep in the BIOS, but I don't know where.

Yeah this is good news. Everytime you turn on your computer, it reassures you everything is fine.

It's probably better to endure than to not know about your computer malfunctioning.
If you really don't want it, then unplug speaker from motherboard.

I wouldn't even bother with the speaker, but yes, if it is attached, a single beep is just the startup noise. Computers have been doing this for years.

lol its a signal that means all hardware parts are working.

Simply open the case and look for a red and black wire with a flat plug. There should also be a written "speaker" mark on the motherboard.
Unplug it and you get no sound when booting your pc.
