I haven't read anything about Piledriver yet, anything confirmed other than even more cores?

To those wondering why someone who couldn't tell the difference might've picked system A or B rather than voting "no difference": there's a whole psychological aspect to this. In a test like this, people will think there has to be some difference, even if they can't see it. Otherwise, what's the point of the test, right? Since they don't want to look stupid, even in an anonymous test, they'll just pick either system at random rather than truthfully voting "no difference". At least, that's my theory.

why are you guys stuck on a gpu bottleneck, when we don't know what kind of 3d they were running, and they were using a 3gb version of the fastest gpu in the world?

They were playing BF3. And the GPU bottleneck is there most of the time for nearly all gamers (The few who use dual/tri/quad GPUs or only play games like SCII aren't part of this and would be best with a 2500k and genuinely notice the difference). It's like recommending a 750w PSU for someone with a single HD7970 and 2500k and no plans to go dual GPU, there's no real reason and you're over-estimating the stress placed on the part. People tend to do that a lot, sadly.

People tend to do that a lot, sadly.

so basically, what your saying is that there was no gpu bottleneck after all...
