Does the intel cooler have to be on a intel CPU.
Iv got one on my de-IHS opteron 180 since it became a server and is only running stock clocks and the stock cooler wouldn't make contact with the DIE with out the IHS.
This stock one just so happened to have the the right hole spacing for my old 939 motherboard which had custom 4 hole mounts onto the bracket like AM2 instead of just 2 like most 939 boards.

Bit dirty but its not due for maintenance for another 2 months. Can get better pictures of it then when its all clean

I cannot understand what you are saying. You use whatever cooler that supports your socket. If you cooler can support Socket 939, then it can be used on 939. If it does not it can't.

I'm pretty damn sure I can attach just about anything to just about anything I'd care to.

Official support is irrelevant. I have tools, I have fasteners, and I have adhesives. I even have opposable thumbs...two of them.

bmgjet is running an Intel stock cooler on his Socket 939 Opteron 180.

You can definitely mod the cooler in however ways you want. When you say Intel stock cooler, it is vague. Don't know which stock cooler are you referring to (Socket 478?).
