Hey guys, I am going to purchase a new router because I have DSL 2Wire 1701HG and it sucks. The 1701HG is a wired and wireless router that was included in my DSL setup as the modem, so its like 3 in 1. DSL, Wireless router, and Wired Router. It drops my connection all the time. I have 5 wireless computers. I was wondering if a new router will fix this issue for me?(No more dropped connections and being able to transfer large files in GB size.)

This is the one I was planning to buy.

Any other suggestions ?

Thanks in advance.

Do all the computers drop out at once?

Edit: forgot to add Linksys is an OK brand.

Yes sir. All internet connections do not work, and if transfering something as big as 100mb? it will pause and all wireless computers will have trouble connecting to the internet, and also the file will not complete its transfer. its very frustrating =(

Not if it's ISP related.

Well, i'm wondering if the connection drop is because of the Internet service provider, because maybe its the HG1701 2 Wire that is unable.

I for one hate every linksys product I've ever had. Make one change to the router's settings and the whole network goes down. Try to reset the router's settings and it bricks
