My best friend is Server admin for a large nursery, they just plopped $50k on all AMD servers. Some big boys too. The intel xeon dual 4p servers (3 of them for 24 cores) in there were from 2005-2006 and that system was about $35k. They could have easily gone with Intel, but they said the cores per dollar and performance is just going to be amazing. Most of it is going online Saturday, I wonder how they will like them and I'll get more info on which CPUs they ended up using.

Sounds like they will be ok if server sales hold steady and grow.

This is why I venture to OCN less and less. Because every AMD thread turns into a fanboy fight with the words "moar" and pitiful uses of the word "bulldozer".

It failed, we all know that. Do we really have to keeping bringing up that stupid saying? Really?

I know how you feel, to be honest i Think bd is just the starting point of something much better, Look at how much the Phenom Arch Improved from the first phenom to the phenom II Thuban's.

Why are you offended by fanboys/idiots and other people that make fun of BD? BD wasn't your product. BD was supposed to be awesome heavy fighter in AMD's corner, etc, instead it was a massive let down. Of course people are going to talk about it and make fun of it and BD is much to blame in this topic.

I could have told you that.

I'm not even close to anything related to Intel. Nor do I have that guy's pay-check.

I bought an 8120 couple weeks ago and really love my new cpu. I prefer AMD products over Intel due to the simple fact I think Intel are a bunch of criminals. Same reason I do not own anything Apple. That's just my preference and I will not sit here and deny the fact that there are better options because there is as we all know. My 8120 is a big step up from my phenom II 840 with no L3 cache. It is extremely fun to overclock and tweak and some really cool peeps over at FX owners club. I am rooting for AMD and really think Trinity and Piledriver will be awesome! I will be buying one of those as well. Just my 2cents.gif

I'm not offended. I own BD and I realize how gimped it is. I owne and paid for a binned 2600k within weeks of its release. I'm not a fanboy of either side. I'm SICK of reading the jokes about it. It's old, outdated, and overplayed. I expect that kind of stuff on other forums, but one as heavily moderated like OCN, this stuff shouldn't be allowed still.

Any thread with the name AMD in the topic will be guaranteed to degenerate down to "MOAR COAR!!!1", "AMD GOT BULLDOZER", "FAILDOZER".

I'm sick of it. It doesn't add any substance to anything. rolleyes.gif
