Another HTPC build! Thoughts? - Page 2

I'm looking to build something similar, but using ITX form factor and pico PSU.
I've been looking at the a4 or a6-3500, low power consumption and can be cooled by a fanless kozuti easily. smile.gif

I'd also go for an SSD if you're striving for absolute silence in a media pc, but since you're not streaming something like a wd green drive would be fairly quiet.

In terms of the Logitech media center keyboard, I say go for it if you want to spend that much, or buy a remote and receiver if all you're going to do is watch movies. Couple it with a cheap wireless keyboard.
This is very good link

Problem with that is any software (MCE, XBMC, MediaPortal) if the xbox controller is not turned on when the software starts you must restart the software for it to recognize it.

Llano based HTPC is always a good idea! If you are open to changing a few components, you could make it a great system:

1) Step down to an A6-3500 (triple core) - slightly better iGPU than the A4 (even that would do)!- $90
2) This ECS motherboard is all you need for an HTPC! Great value for money! - $50

Money saved = $70, put that towards a better case with a PSU -the Silverstone GD-05 and this Seasonic PSU - $140

Or this Antec NSK2480 is a much better case and has a good PSU along with it! - $115

Your total in both cases still won't exceed the $500! Good luck!

I am stepping down to a A6 thumb.gif

The case I picked is small and slim plus with a psu, those cases are way to big. I want this as un-noticable as possible, the smaller the better.

Thanks for everyone's feeback biggrin.gif

I probably will get GA-A75M-UD2H instead of that ASRock MB, due to better onboard sound system (supports Dolby).
