Just cause the socket type says it support AM3 95w, dont mean that it does.
Seen it too many times, people upgrade there CPU to find it dont work, unless a bios update is needed.
I mean if you had a custom built system, then help is much easier.
We dont know what case your system is in. is it a slim line model, standard atx. is there enough room to support the 6850.
All these are just valid questions, to help you make sure that your not wasting your money.

In the future I would upgrade your ram. patriot 8gb ddr3 1600 is only 35 bucks on amazon.

Keep an eye out for increase temps. With your layout all that GPU heat will be sucked into your PSU. If you get one that exhaust all that heat inside.
PSU is rated for about 50c, or it could be lower. but that will defiantly go over.
The case was never meant to be used with higher end cards or a PSU where it pulls air from inside.

Will do.and again thanks for your help one more question ,say I decide to keep my athlon ii x2 240 and just upgrade the vid card to something like a 6850 or 6870 do you think it will like you guys say bottleneck the card? is the dual core good enough for gaming along with a higher end card ?

U will bottleneck. Grab the quad core with a 6870 and youll have a well balanced PC and you will enjoy your games way more.
