2 Sub folders in the iPhone's DCIM folder?

Thread Starter
I've got the iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0.1 with photo stream enabled smile.gif

Can anyone tell me why there are 2 folders?

I've seen people sugguest that one is for photo stream - obviously wrong as it's cloud based.

I've deleted all files in both and there's no longer pictures in my 'Camera Roll' on the phone.

I'm unable to delete this file which I'm pretty sure was a picture file then I changed when I was deleting the pictures.

tl;dr: Why are there 2 sub-folders? and what do they do?

Cheers guys
Michael

Based on what you just posted... wouldn't the logical conclusion be that one of them has to do with the Camera Roll feature... since there are no longer pictures there...?

Yeah they're both related to camera roll however when I take pictures they get split between the two folders and when they get split there seems to be no order it's like they randomly get moved to one of those folders
