Sabertooth 990FX and FX-6100 Overclock

Hi all

Have a couple of questions on overclocking as new to all this. watch some videos and wanted to check to see if i got stuff right lol.

Firstly I have cosair vengance RAM (2x4Gb) 1600.(says low voltage 1.35v on the box). Should I start by overclocking this to 1866 using the D.O.C.P function? and would that require me to go 1.5v on them(would they handle this? is 1.35v just there lowest setting for power save?

Second.. I should open the AI Suite II and go to the turbo V evo section maybe set my cpu volts up a bit..say 1.4v and then start increaseing the multiplier?

I know I need to be increasing the multipler while maxing out all the cores, what program would you recommend to do this?

What have I missed?

Thx

I tryed alittle overclock smile.gif

I tried to set the memory to 1866 but it was haveing none of that lol so left it at 1600. guess ineed to increase it in stages.
After that I just increased to the multiplier up and got to 4.4ghz stable so a good start.

BI know really I should find a good FSB freq then multiply but lost how to set it....Increase it till cripple and back it off a bit? then multiplier?

actually with AMD you don't have to mess with the FSB to overclock unless you really want to most people just jack the heck out of the multiplier and call it a day biggrin.gif But I have no clue how to overclock memory at all, that is my next learning process, sorry thumb.gif
