The ****, it's really pissing me off lol. Game publishers have been getting rich as **** for ever now, and now it's "not enough!"

Fixed. Stop blaming everything on the downtrodden developers.

Oh wait...that's the world those of us in the PC gaming arena live in. Capitalism is dead....and buried it would seem. "Stifle competition to a relegated oligarchy and then punish the consumers"...I seriously love the minds of the suits/execs at these companies. /sarcasm

Capitalism is what causes this, it's not dead it's thriving.

I'm already going to be waiting a little while after launch to actually get the new XBOX since I'm a PC guy but I definitely won't be getting the XBOX if they actually put in this "anti-used game" system.

I'll just use that money I would have used for the XBOX, and upgrade my PC and play games 5x better.

But the whole used game thing is probably a hoax.

disc based media isn't that much of a "no brainer" to implement anymore. I'd wager this might even be the last generation of consoles to support disc based media, and wouldn't have been surprised if Microsoft or Sony pulled a surprise announcement and said they were going digital distribution only, or perhaps even to flash media. Going back to solid state cartridges would make it incredibly easy to implement an anti-used game system as you could simply write the console ID to the game cart and then have to two forever linked. Although it would be even easier with digital distribution (just look at steam, origin etc...)

Granted, digital distribution alienates those without internet let alone fast enough broadband internet to make it viable for digital distribution. Hard drive capacity and cost effectiveness also still isn't quite there, it might have been if it hadn't been for production setbacks with the flooding last year. And flash based media isn't quite cost effective enough either. It certainly is for portable devices, what with the 3DS capable of having 8GB carts.

A generation from now a combination of digital distro + flash media very well might displace disc based media entirely, helping to force it into extinction.

This sounds pretty improbable. Doesn't seem like a necessary battle to fight for MS....

That's what I was thinking. Because they sell used game too. Also what about trades? Damn tough situation here.

So when you take a comment with a grain of salt, you are taking something that is potentially serious (poison) and taking the edge off of it by not taking it seriously (salt).
Therefor, one could assume that the more "salt" you take, the less serious it becomes.

/Shrugs

Honestly, I don't give a flying duck... I'd rather say something like "Don't take it too seriously", "Don't believe everything you read" or "be skeptic".
