Help with Intel i7 2xxxQM series

Thread Starter
Hi, I have been looking for a gaming laptop for a few days and I am deciding between a few processors in the Intel i7 2xxxQM series. Initially I was going to go with the 2630QM because the only difference between that and the others(excluding the 2860QM) is the clock.

So I am wondering, is the 2670QM just an overclocked 2630QM? and same with the 2760QM?
If not could you please explain the difference between these 3?
Also, what is keeping me from just overclocking the 2630QM to 2760QM speeds? Would it perform the same temp and stability wise?

Seeing as how the 2760QM is $260 more I must be wrong.
What else could that $260 be going tor words that's so expensive and doesn't show up in the specs?

Thanks for any input. Sorry if this is a stupid question but its kinda hard to look up on Google.

THe 26XXQM series has 6MB of L3 cache. the 27XXqm and 28XXqm have 8MB of cache...

the 2670QM is a good mobile i7 to game with.

Well yes of course I'm talking about the ones with only 6mb cache. the ones i described in the op were 2630QM, 2670QM, and the 2760QM. Those all have the exact same specs except for the clock. Please could someone answer my question? Thanks.

I'm talking about the first 6 in this list: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Processors-Benchmarklist.2436.0.html?&3dmark06cpu=1&64bit=0&archive=0&benchmark_values=&cb11=1&cinebench10_m=1&cinebench10_s=1&codename=0&condensed=0&cores=1&cpu_fullname=1&daysold=0&deskornote=2&dhrystone=0&dx=&fsb=1&l2cache=1&l3cache=1&mhz=1&month=&or=0&search=QM&series=0&sort=&superpi1m=1&superpi2m=0&superpi32m=1&sysmark2004se=0&tdp=1&technology=0&threads=1&turbo_mhz=1&type=l3cache&whetstone=0&wprime_1024=1&wprime_32=1
