Drilling, beating, modding Sojourn...

I made this because I went off on my case..

Areocool spiral galaxies... not a bad case, after UPS smashed one, I got the second in and now have been hard at work drilling holes in it.

Here's the website on it, I tore the rest of Morninglion.com down for updates, so it all directs there now.

Breif of what I found and did about it:

Hard drives run hot, so added a side fane for them.

I had a leftover 3/8" water system, so I dedicated it to the video card, It has it's own MCP350, 120mm radiator, and block.

The CPU is running on a MCP650 pump, 1/2" lines and 120mm Radiator.

System overall is running at 2.9GHZ steady day in and day out. PLaying Oblivion beautifully. Kinda tired... I cant think of what else to say...

All the pix and stuff is at the website! Post comments here please!

Next project:

80/20 roller set for it to sit into with it's straps

Sounds good my man. Explain how you are going to incorporate this 80/20 roller set.

Hmm, I'll build it using my CAD program, I have a smaller [Roland MDX650] 4 axis mill, and T-slots plug in for my software so I can design 80/20 structures with it.

Basicaly it's going to be a cradle the case lowers into, with webbing straps to keep it that way, Low, with the wheels to the sides so it only comes out about 1" off the floor. Going to use 2.5" locking rubber casters though, so it actually rolls.

That's an awesome case isn't it?

I'm not one to really speak up about wiring, mine is not pretty either, but there seems to be TONS of it in there really blocking the airflow.

I'm not a fan of radiators in front either, it just blows hot air into your case but I know you have limited option, although you should have room to mount a single 120 rad as a blowhole in the top........

I got too much tubing, and too much wires... and alot of blocked airflow, but I fixed that:

First, all the hot air goes out, not through the case, even for the front.

PIC!

The 3 80x15mm fans blow into the case, at points where that air is most useful.

PIC!

The red circles represent the placement of the fans pumping in cool air. The fans connect to 2 power points running off the 12v side of the PSU directly.

Front lower fan blows it's air in to feed the large low speed Delta blowing the cool air over the front rad.

Upper-rear fan blows it's air over the Hard Drive drirectly, so it can be picked up and removed by the PSU as the case was designed to do.

Lower-rear fan blows onto the PCI cards and the 7900GT to help with Memory and other things in the area. Most of that air is drawn out by the Rear Radiator's 120mm low speed Delta.

Some of the air from the fans it used by the 60x10mm fan on the North Brodge cooler, it shoot it's heat down to be pulled out by the radiator fans.

Memory, MOSFET and other chip cooling works with the side fans and radiator fan's flow, it works very well.

Only fan powered by the Mobo is the Chipset 60x10mm fan. The rest use pass-through PSU connectors with RPM feeds.
