Very strange connection issues *Please help :c*

Hello OCN,

I have had a very strange internet connection issue lately. It seems that starting things like World of Warcraft or various other programs and games cycles (reboots) my wireless gateway. I have just done a fresh re install of windows as of this time yesterday. I did indeed have the issue before as well. I have called my isp out to inspect it before and they said that I was losing packets due to a faulty line (which they fixed).

When it happens, I still have access to my routers settings. It usually lasts from 2 minutes to 10 minutes.

My current gateway is a Netgear Cg3000D Docsis 3.0 Wireless Gateway.

I have Windows Ultimate x64 and my rig is properly filled out.

Any tips or solutions are welcome.

PS: It was doing this on an older Gateway that my ISP had provided so im thinking its a windows issue?

PSS: Another issue is that I will lose internet connection (browsers hang, downloads stop) but windows still says I have a connection. This lasts for about 5-10 minutes or until I restart the Gateway.

If you can, try directly plugging your computer into the modem to better diagnose the issue.

Well that's still a modem then, there must be some way to convert coax/phone/fiber to ethernet tongue.gif

It's a modem/router combo. Look into buying a modem only, not a modem/router combo.

Its a docsis 3.0 which is required to have 100mb bandwidth.

The gateway is brand new, and is provided by my ISP. Its a very high quality gateway which usually costs about 300 dollars aftermarket.
