Yeah, I saw the different types of keys, brown,red,blue, ill look into mech keyboards, so for mech keyboards, what is good? switch? razer's blackwidow (ultimate or not) ? else?

It's all what you prefer.

The General Consensus is

blue=heavy typing
red/brown=middle ground, the red has no feedback while the brown does
black=heavy gaming

not necessarily for you, but this is overall what it seems to be.

If you can try a couple, I'd definitely do it.

Lots of people on here seem to think that the one they own is the best. and all they've tried is there specific type and maybe the ABS M1's wierd kind, so they think theirs is best for them. It might not be lol, but all mech keyboards are good imo, that, they will continue thinking that. Fanboyz!
I've tried Black, Brown, Blue, and whatever the ABS M1's are (not cherry's, some other kind).

I liked brown the best, and if you want the "safest" bet, i'd go with brown. It's a good mid point between all of the different types. Now if you have no way to try them, i'd go with brown because it's the safest. even if this is one off from your "ideal board" it's still a lot better than what you are using, haha tongue.gif And most people seem to take a liking to brown once they've tried it, so idk. But once again, all personal preference.

but even if you choose one on the wrong end of the spectrum... say your ideal is a blue and you choose a black, it's still light years ahead of your current keyboard =P

Sorry for the weird sentence structure/repetitiveness, I tried to get my point across... Whilst my red wings are down 0-6....... boo!

It's mostly in how hard it is to press the keys, and partially on if they have any "bounce back" or feedback. I'm no expert though so you'd want to check the mech guide.

Very true, But i can't say blues are great for heavy typing.

As mentioned switch is what you prefer, I'm a really hard typist and I have a widow, I love the clickyness but i bottom out when trying to type lightly. I tried mx blacks in a store, and instantly loved them. Stiff enough that i don't bottom out all the time, and nice and stiff. The safe bet for a switch is the browns, although blues have a high liked rate as well.

DAS keyboards my friend is the way to go...
I have a Das ultimate S and I never looked back
as it seems you are a fellow Canadian (i think) you should look at this site http://www.directcanada.com/search/?kw=das
The site is legit and I got my KB after 1/2 week on the free ground shipping option. It is a bit over 100$ but no custom fees since you are within the country.

The Cooler Master is compact, great for gaming and has blue switches, which are fun to game on. I have the black widow, but the keys just feel so flimsy. The Cooler Master is a re-branded Filco at half the price. It's pretty solid to type on and will be the best bang for your buck IMO.

This. Honestly, as long as you get a mechanical keyboard that isn't some random offbrand, you will be fine. Read up about everything (go to the geekhack forums). Pick whatever looks good and you think you'll like, you most likely will.

I think im almost sold for the CM quickfire. Those blues switches arent that much gor heavy typers from what i heard, but as ssid above any of those mech KB will be better than what i have. You guys have any bad points over the quickfire pro?

I can tell you the Sidewinder x6 and the G110 type practically identically, but the x6 doesn't have feet to angle it up like every other keyboard on the planet does. I had a G110 and loved it right up until the Windows key stopped registering on it. The one note I do have on it though, the G110 (the one I had at least) can't register left-shift and space at the same time.
