[CNN] Apple: Most Valuable Company in the World - Page 7

The Fanboy (irrational) Argument Dissected:
1- Claims that if reader makes comparision of mac vs. non-mac, the mac will astonish you on how great it's value is.
2- Comparison is posted showing that the mac is horribly over priced vs. non-mac
3- Fanboy claims that the mac is still superior because it cost half a grand more.

A reasonable person will admit that the iPad is one of the best tablets on the market. However, Apple as a whole has brainwashed many customers (mostly fanboys) into believing that their product is highly priced because it is made of pure gold, platinum, and only the finest grade silicon manufactored by man. The other subsection of Apple consumers is the individuals who buy Apple products because of it's perceived "coolness". Alas, there is the minority of the Apple consumer base (roughly 5%) who bought an Apple product because the particular product was actually good quality for the price at the time of purchase.

so just because i prefer an apple laptop to a pc laptop and an apple tablet to an android tablet means im a blind fanboy? its just personal preference. youre all fanboys because you prefer android tablets and pc laptops. thats OCN logic.

Alternatively, if i had said id rather have a samsung 28 inch or a ultrasharp U2711 OR id rather buy an asus laptop over an apple laptop you guys wouldnt even be attacking me.

also what most of OCN fails to realize is that hardware is not the end all. its also the software. OS X is a vastly better operating system than windows 7.

It bothers me a little that a company that merely produces disposible gadgets for the good sheeple of the planet is trading blows with a company which provides the lifeblood of the industrialized world, which is only getting scarcer and more expensive.

If I'd ever been interested in one of their products, I would be weary now, simply because of their juggernaut size. I guess I'm suspicious of a company that advertises so much and/or benefits so greatly from the loyalty of their unflinching fans.

Most people want simple solutions rather than complex explanations, that is retail. If someone hires you to build a website would you get pissed at them for not wanting to play any part in its design while in exchange paying you more money?

Exxon really can't do this, as oil is mostly just oil. They do have the advantage of selling something of tangible value that is not entirely dependent on a fad though.

How long does it take for something to no longer be a fad?

Mac OS better than Windows? In some ways, perhaps. When it comes to compatibly, Windows OSs leave Macs in the dust. Windows OS is also more secure than Mac by far; ASLR that is on Mac OSs is a joke to be quiet honest. The only reason this is overlooked is because Mac OS has such a small user base in the world (under 10%) that most attacks focus on windows based OSs.

Edit- Windows OS= Windows 7 and Server 2008

And you are right, this is OCN. IF you make a claim, back it up with facts or expect to get chewed out. Don't cry about people attacking you when you just keep making up lies or use subjective views as if they were laws.
