Is the ENVY 15 as good as the 15-inch MacBook Pro? No. But considering that for the hardware that we tested you’d have to spend nearly $2000 on an Apple machine, it doesn’t have to be. If you find yourself spending most of your computer time within the reach of an AC outlet, it’s tough to beat for power and media capabilities. I wish it was a little lighter and lasted a little longer, but as a desktop replacement and media consumption/creation specialist, you’d be hard-pressed to find anything with these kinds of specs, fit and finish in this price range.

I think many people would rather a company have actual designers rather than copy the Macbook. Also it feels cheaper, and the battery tech is worse and it's heavier. Your money and its your choice, but don't think that people who spend more on the original MacBook get zero benefits other than the Apple on the back.

You're right, i do see a very big difference.... mainly price for what you get. Everything on HP is better (except CPU which is the same); but it is half a grand less.

Utterly f'ing ridiculous. A god forsaken TOY company is worth more than OIL, the stuff that WARS are started over.

Faith in humanity = null.

I'm not sure why they're known for the music industry and CGI and such. If you look at a Mac from purely an OS standpoint, what does it offer internally that makes it better for CGI/whatever that makes it the preference? Do they optimize the programs more for Mac because there are less variables? Does Mac handle processing different that makes it better? I just don't get why it's better for Photoshop and such. For music I don't understand why Pro Tools is better for Mac...you get what I'm saying.

There is no difference now. There is no advantage for using a Mac.

They didn't get there in good faith however. They didn't get there based on skill, inovation, etc., like most of the other companies do. frown.gif
