is it worth it?

Would it be worth getting a P4 660/661 for my comp?? My mobo does support it, I'm thinking it would be cheaper over all to do this than to get a new Core2Duo Processor/Mobo/ New Ram, what do you all think??

I would just sell off your rig and build another. You have generic ram, and bad video.

Since that you can't overclock, going from 3.0ghz to 3.6ghz, it should give you a small boost in performance but compared to today's CPUs, I wouldn't bother speding the cash on a 600mhz increase.

Save up for a Core 2 Duo E6300 + DS3 + DDR2 533.

Good idea nasgul, except I would suggest if you are on a budget, go for something like:

E6300 + S3 ($50 less than DS3, same OC ablilty) and some nice DDR2-667 ($50 from DS3 into here) because Intels LOVE bandwidht and DDR2-533 is a bit poopy. Keep the RAM to 1GB but get some nice XMS2 or Blaastix or OCZ gold because you want to be able to OC that a fair bit. Otherwise, if you don't want to OC, chuck in a 7600GT.

Save up a little and go allendale... 6300-6400 if you can spring it... and pick up a gigabyte board... they're decently priced. Ram's what'll really tear you apart... but that's why you should save for a few weeks/months.

Edit: Nice Ram btw... seems similar to mine lol
