Seeking Advice for P67 System with 32GB RAM

Hi

I am seeking some professional advice regarding what RAM module to use for Asus P8P67 PRO mobo, cpu = 2600K. I day trade the market and would like to RAMDRIVE the extra RAM for my trading softwares to speed up the data response. I am intending to OC my 2600K cpu to around 4.8GHz +. Any inputs/advice is greatly appreciated.

look why you would like a 32 gb of ram that would cost like hell and will be overkill until the games of the next decade you want to speed up the data rate increasing ram memory wont do it but increasing ram chips will do you can have 12 GB of ram just fill every dimm with a stick of ram in your motherboard it will be fast , the ram stick is processing unit and have speed
so if you want speed dont look to the memory look for the ram frequency and how many slots you can fill in your mobo
get 12 gb of ram or 16 gb

uh. Mind rephrasing all of that?

As per OP. Heck I think with 16Gb you'd be fine.

How much ram does your trader software take anyway? I mean if its already loaded in the ram (8-16Gb of ram) then what would the ram disk do?

You want to setup up RAM Disk? Even then 16 GB should be plenty.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the suggestions.

So with 16GB of RAM should I be getting 2x8GB or 4x4GB? I read that by NOT filling all 4 slots of RAM I can push the OCing a bit higher. If so can you guy suggest me one ? (It seems that there are plenty of 4x4GB but not much 2x8GB and the latter is also more expensive too.) Thanks for your inputs.

I don't think thats much of an issue anymore from the midrange to the high range boards because the IMC takes care of that. I could be wrong.

IMC is now in the CPU chip, so I would suggest to get 2x4Gb
