How to uninstall Realtek HD Audio in order to utilize Xonar DG driver?

Thread Starter
I recently purchased an Asus Xonar DG sound card and would like to properly use it with all its might.
I read how the onboard HD Audio might conflict with the Xonar's drivers and would like to know how to
properly dispose of the onboard sound drivers.

While installing my Nvidia GPU drivers, I also notice that it inclues its own HD Audio, do I also need to remove
those? If so, how?

Thanks.

Control Panel - Programs and Features - highlight Realtek High Definition Audio driver - Uninstall.

So, those are the same as the onces installed by the Nvidia drivers as well?

Do I do this over Safe Mode or just in regular Windows?

You can do it through windows, it's easier. Remove the driver first then install the Xonar and make sure to disable Onboard audio in the BIOS after.
