Those "nibs" are the BIOS Switches. Keep them both on 1.

^^^^^ k, they are both on 1 now.

I've uninstalled TriXX and AB it seems that when I ran them the 2nd card would stop working.

1st card sensor - didn't touch any OC / Fan software

2nd card sensor - didn't touch any OC / Fan software

still I want to be able to control my fans other than CCC

Hey gratz on your 2nd 7970.
To answer ur questions...

1. The stock fan profile iis fine as long as you dnt go over 85c
2. AB is by far the beat fan control software.
3. Second card is supposed to turn off when not in use, its new technology call zero core.

Enjoy ur crossfire

@jShotz i will run crossfire with hd7970 and your topic made me sure that i can combine different brands with different clocks and that the fan does not run because of new technology. Thanks. I have one question though, i asked on another forum if i could combine different brands and this was the answer As far as I know you can crossfire different brands and the faster card will default to the slower cards speed. can anyone elaborate on this or confirm it??

AMD cards can work at their own specification (core, memory clocks, voltage and SP/Shaders) in Crossfire. They don't have to downclock or sync'ed, etc.

Here: post #14

You can Crossfire any brands as long as they are 7900 series.

If user-experience is not good and reliable enough, maybe .......... smile.gif

So it does not matter if i get HD7970 from different brands. if i was to cfx gigabyte 7970 with a sapphire/his/XFX/MSI it would not matter anything as AMD cards work on their own specification?? Do you have any reliable source to verify that?? =D
