Need Urgent Help with a GTX 560 Purchase

Thread Starter
I am RMA'in my AMD 6850 for a NVidia GTX560 (non-Ti). Now, the problem is they only have the ASUS DCU model with a single fan which is stock clocked, not the ones with DCU II or the TOP model. I tried to find the reviews of this specific model, but so far i havent found even a single review. Should i go for this model, because i have not seen anyone with it. My next option is the 560 Ti model which will cost me INR2000 (about $40) more, but i am strictly on a tight budget. Here is the link on ASUS site

http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/NVIDIA_Series/ENGTX560_DC2DI1GD5/

Please help, Thanks in Advance

I have that cooler but with three heatpipes on a 460 (on the 560 it only has two) and it's excellent. Here are some newegg reviews that may help you, and based on those pictures it still has the VRM cooling which is a big plus.

Yes my old AMD 6850 also had the same DCU system and it works great. My only beef with the card is that it has no legit reviews. The ones i found were for either DCU II model or the TOP model (all GTX560). So i just found it to be strange. I still hope someone can clarify me on this..

What do you want to know about the card? I can tell you that it appears to be the same PCB and cooler (minus one heatpipe) as my 460 which is a beast of a card. It has a plenty beefy VRM setup with 5+2 phases, what is very likely the best VRM cooling on a 560, the fan is really quiet, it has PCB stiffener. The only thing that we can't compare directly is the temperatures, but we can make an educated guess based on what we know; the 560 puts off a little bit less heat than the 460 and mine runs incredibly cool (with one more heatpipe), so based on that I see no reason to avoid the card. I actually don't like the coolers on the dual slot DCUIIs that you wanted because they seem cheaper and not as elegantly engineered as the cooler on my card.

Well, i have ordered it as a replacement for my 6850. Got tired of AMD.
Thanks for the advice. i would still love to hear from someone who has owned this card though.

VRM? What does that mean? Such a noob question here.

Voltage Regulation Module, they regulate the power to the different parts of the card like the memory and the actual core and they get hot in the process. Not to be confused with VRAM which is Video Random Access Memory.

I understand it man. AMD didn't leave up to my expectations. Buggy drivers (i had to install my whole OS once because of them) plus this is the second time i am getting my 6850 replaced (the first piece had a manufacturing defect and i know that the fault partly lies with ASUS too, but still). Extremely sad experience.
