Why don't you overclock that 3800 X2, they OC like a mother.

My sister said I could put F@H on hers, so thats 2 cores. She usualy keeps it on 24/7 too.

My brother is selling me his E6300. Said he'd hand it over next time he comes down here. He just got a E6700 for next to nothing.

So...no.

I am going to be putting my CPU below zero after this weekend, maybe I can hold tubnotub1 off for a day more before he passes me.

The 3800 is on a very non-overclocking friendly board. Its a Gigabyte K8 Triton. The only voltage options are +5% +10% +15% and the FSB can only go up too 239. Also, its a brand new build (just finished it today) and the temps at load with 2 instances of folding are at 47. That and the NB is extremely hot (68c at full load! ). From what I have read on forums its an ok temp for the NB, but I wont feel comftorable overclocking till I get an aftermarket air for both the CPU and the NB.

239x10 should be attainable on stock volts, or at least pretty close....

Your probably right... but upping the FSB is also gonna up the NB temp AND I have no way to control ram timings with this board other than running a divider.

I see, well, that should be your next upgrade, with a better mobo that 3800 could be at 2.64 ghz easy, for just like 100 bucks.

Might ask for a better 939 from other folks for my birthday, currently I want to get my other Sandy up and folding with a decent board, as she could hit 2.7 easy.
