It just comes down to each person...to some people it is like their soul is stolen if even the most rudimentary piece of info is kept online about them.

Me? I like adds that are customized to my browsing habits...I mean I seldom ever click on one...I could safely say I never do it, but I'd rather see adds for Newegg floating around at the corners of my screen than adds for some dating service or something. I also like new businesses in my area opening up that provide services I am interested in and/or need. None of this can hurt you in anyway...unless it is deals with financial or identification data like credit card or Social Security numbers, but if they keep that data is much more closely guarded and it isn't tracked unless it is needed.
