Creating a registration page for my site and allowing users to login....need help

short story is it works but not how i want it to

when users register their password.....as they define it......does not stay

Sql changes the password to a single digit number

here is my table in word
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<!--
- phpMyAdmin XML Dump
- version 3.4.5
- http://www.phpmyadmin.net
-
- Host: localhost
- Generation Time: Jan 26, 2012 at 12:19 AM
- Server version: 5.5.16
- PHP Version: 5.3.8
-->

<pma_xml_export version="1.0" xmlns:pma="http://www.phpmyadmin.net/some_doc_url/">
    <!--
    - Structure schemas
    -->
    <pma:structure_schemas>
        <pma:database name="my-pinup" collation="latin1_swedish_ci" charset="latin1">
            <pma:table name="web_members">
                CREATE TABLE `web_members` (
                  `id` int(25) NOT NULL,
                  `name` varchar(65) NOT NULL,
                  `lastname` varchar(65) NOT NULL,
                  `email` varchar(65) NOT NULL,
                  `Password` varchar(65) NOT NULL DEFAULT '',
                  `Username` varchar(25) NOT NULL,
                  UNIQUE KEY `Password` (`Password`),
                  UNIQUE KEY `Username` (`Username`)
                ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1;
            </pma:table>
        </pma:database>
    </pma:structure_schemas>

    <!--
    - Database: 'my-pinup'
    -->
    <database name="my-pinup">
        <!-- Table web_members -->
        <table name="web_members">
            <column name="id">0</column>
            <column name="name">John</column>
            <column name="lastname">Smith</column>
            <column name="email">js@gmail.com</column>
            <column name="Password">0</column>
            <column name="Username">js1234</column>
        </table>
    </database>
</pma_xml_export>

As you can see the password is 0 even though the user created a password.......also when creating the password how do you encrypt it both as it is typed and within sql.
