Sounds kinda hypocritical to me lol.

I'm waiting for Sapphire to release the Vapor-X and Toxic cards....now I'm truly scared about those prices. I want another Toxic so bad but not sure I want to spend that much since I bet it'll release at $630+

Your argument is illogical as you're essentially arguing that GTX 580 being overpriced is fine, but the 7970 being overpriced is somehow not fine.

You can't logically say one card is fantastic regardless of price, and argue that another card which has better performance, is overpriced when it's cheaper or the same price.

Remember, the GTX 580's MSRP was $499, yet it's sold for ~$550 for most of its first month.
In the same vein, the 3gb GTX 580's started out over $600, and have been at the $600 mark for most of their life, and the 7970 is really a 3gb GTX580 competitor, not a 1.5gb 580 competitor.

Stop making up numbers. The 7950 msrp is $450. Now why would it cost the same as a 7950?

If this is the case and nV stays with mainstream pricing arounf $ 300 these cards will have to drop in price to compete.
When the nV flagship releases expect to pay arounf $ 550 to 600 and 650 for Lightnings / Matrix cards
You heard it here first ........... smile.gif

Its still sad that you believe that Nvidia will release a card that cheap thats bests the 7970.

The funniest thing is those 580 1.5Gb owners bashing the 7970 price... Really. Talk about denial! smile.gif

I LOL each time I look at a sig with a 580 1.5Gb in it, and the guy is complaining about the price of the 7970... They bought the most overpriced card of the last 2 years (1.5Gb LOL!), and they complain about the price of the 7970 with 3Gb, selling for the SAME price has the 580 3Gb, but beeing 25% faster.

Funny. smile.gif
