silver kill coil, not working - Page 7

Generally speaking, yes. It will still lose its shine, but as long as it's plated correctly, should not pit, flake or corrode.

Many copper parts are plated in nickel expressly because nickel oxidizes less readily than copper.

Great to hear, if your not satisfied you can try the lime method. Lime are very inexpensive and seems to work better than vinegar(at least for me, no sour smells as well).

THanks guys, youve been very helpful. The copper blocks are almost completely cleaned. Scrubbing them did very little, but I let them soak overnight in vinegar/water and that seemed to do the trick. I will try and get some pictures posted later tonight.

Great to hear that!
My bet still remains galvanic corrosion, found an enlightning article about it:

ok folks heres the simple of it after googling the materials he listed in combination brass aka copper/zinc mix pure copper and the silver coil it will boost corrosive properties.
in a small loop those carry and settle fast so its a good chance of corrision add to this if all the vinegar wasnt out of the system it would boost corrosion significantly.

so my guess is corrision by all the different metals all so close together.

Just use Feser Corrosion Blocker and Inhibitor and be done with silver, then you'll have some kind of corrosion protection and an inhibitor for algae.
