Nvidia GeForce GT440 Overclocking.

Thinking of buying an updated model, but at the moment I'm trying to OC this card so I can run Battlefield 3 on it a little smoother.

Currently I can run it on High settings with around 30-60fps range, but only in windowed mode (Which is a pain in the ass)...

GPU Specs in-case nobody knows..

GeForce GT440 1GB GDDR5

Super Alloy Power allowing 30 degree cooler operations, 15% performance boost and a 2.5 x better lifespan...

Here is the original clock

Does anyone know what I can crank it up to without killing it? Maybe somebody has some experience with this card...

Honestly, I'm a little scared of breaking something, so thought I would get advice off you guys first.

Take the fan off of AUTO first of all; make a fan curve in the FAN tab. Then crank the core clock up and test it in a game. You are not raising the voltage (no voltage control for that card) so don't be afraid of "breaking" it. Worst you'll do is go too far and it'll become unstable. Then you just back down and try again. I don't know what the straps (increments) are for the core clock but, try something like 845 first. Then 865. Then 885. Then 900. Raise the core clock up by about ~25 MHz at a time and try it out. If it starts artifacting or locks up then you'll know you've gone to far, just back down a bit until it's stable.

Once you get a good oc save it as a profile in afterburner. Before you game just hit it and away you go. After gaming just hit the RESET button to drop back down to stock. thumb.gif
