A X1900XT will get you there, I think. Or 2. Anyway, you'll need something from ATI's X1000 series because the Xbox 360's ATI R500 GPU can do HDR and AA at the same time, something only ATI's current GPUs can do.

Do you mean you want just your cards to be the same?
You'll have to get a top of the line graphic card.

or..

Do you want your PC to match the performance of a XBOX 360?
You'll pretty much have to go top of the line and spend about 2,000-3,000$.. heh

(My FX57 and 2x 7800GTX SLI, 2GB of ram was pretty close to the XBOX's performance...but i think the xbox was a bit faster.)

Getting just a top of the line card or even SLI won't get your XBOX 360 performance.

The Xbox 360's core is about equivilent to a X1800XT 512, I believe. However, it has unified shaders, whereas no current PC video card has them.

Also, remember that the 360 does not use Anti-aliasing, and that they only crank out around 30-60 FPS, whereas I get around 85 FPS in most of the games I play.

how would you precisely compare the two anyway ?

I thought the R500 could do HDR+AA. I remember, this was the subject of a lot of debate at the Elder Scrolls forum, as players wanted to play with HDR+AA like on the Xbox 360 but game developpers said it wasn't possible... until the Chuck patch ATI

Gamespot did a comparison for Prey between PC & 360.

It was done a few months ago (a couple?), think the PC version lost to the 360, except w/ the fastest PC & highest graphic cards (SLI/Crossfire). Can't remember... too lazy to re-read the article

explain how that works when a 360 is only 400bucks..
and not all 400bucks go into the rendering hardware..
