Homemade Cooler!

Hi guys what do you think of my little homemade cooler?

First thing i did was go out and find a cheep £2.50 fan (green in my case).

Then i heated up some metal and melted the case of the fan.

The with some strong hold superglue stuck the fan to the heatsink!

now my card works like a charm! and it only cost £2.50!

PLZ NOTE: IF YOU ARE GOING TO DO THIS HAVE SOME MOUTH PROTECTSON SO YOU DO NOT INHALE THE PLASTIC FUMES!

nice... i personally wouldnt have melted the plastic on... i wouldve used the rubber band method but whatever works... let me know if you can get a higher OC.

There are no doubt more simple methods of adding extra cooling to your components, but probably not many as cheap and creative as this one. It looks pretty good too imo .

Good bit of creative thinking! REP for you.

Highly-Annoyed

Good Job

It look suprisingly professional. However, I must point out that if a cable comes into contact when the fan is in motion, it'll probably cut up the cable and\\or break the fan. You should come up with some sort of way to protect the fan blades.

Hey razzy!

A good friend of mine is using a EVGA 6200 graphics card. I notice you have the exact same heat sink as he does. Stock the heat sink sucks and was running at 60-70C playing games. So we decided to find out what VGA coolers fit a 6200. And to make a long story short we tried at least 6 VGA coolers and none fit till we found the VANTEC IceBerq 4 Pro and it fits PERFECTLY to the point it was made for the card! After we installed it we were impressed not only with the looks but the fan and copper heat sink lowered his temps to 30C vs. 60-70C with the old heat sink. I swear we are the only ones that know that cooler fits a 6200 unless some one when through the trouble to test a bunch of sinks like we did..

hears a link to it at new egg for under 14 bucks

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835110107

some people gave it bad reviews because it didn't fit "their" card but with my experience with a 6200 and this cooler I guarantee it fits so I 100% recommend it.

I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier so you wouldn't have gone through the trouble to mod your sink. Even though your mod is creative I think the vantec would be a little more efficient.

Maybe I can take a picture of his card with the Vantec on it if your skeptical
