unless intel makes the iGPU run as a secondary (physx) card for the high-end. which is better then it doing nothing.

It would be wonderful if you could dedicate the iGPU as a PhysX processor.
If Intel had like a HD 5000, with say 32 shader cores,6 rops, and ran at 700MHz, that would be an alright card, about as good as a GT 220 or so.

it'll probably be at 850 like what they have now and can overclock to 1600-1800 easy.

but im getting my hopes up. rolleyes.gif

Yeah. lol, I need to test if I can max out my core's frequency at 2000MHz. Maybe even higher. I don't want to fry the iGPU though, I use it occasionally.

lol i know what you mean. i get scared when it starts to go beyond 2000.
it will boot on any speed because it idles at 800/850 but once its needed it can go up to max.

if intel can keep packing in shaders then we'll have a nice GPU.

heat isnt an issue i'll just water cool tongue.gif

I was once in a presentation with some random Intel engineer who told us Intel was working in some GPU stuff but I think they stopped. He actually showed us a card they had, something like a GTX275 (shape, not performance) with blue cover all arround. I don't know if it's relevant to the post, just thought I'd share in case someone was interested.

Sent from my Amstrad PCW8512 using black and green stuff.

As previously mentioned, Intel's x86 GPGPU project was called Larrabee.

Intel has release Knights Corner (50+ cores) and Knights Ferry for development:

So Intel failed at making a GPU, so decided to beef up the cores and call it an MIC CPU?
