But to be fair I'm not entirely sure its my internet giving me this problem. The pingtest and the wow server i'm on are in california. I have zero difficulty with yahoo voice chat open and talking to my girlfriend. My problem may just be something between me and california.

As for the contract, ours required a 1 year contract but we've had it for longer than a year now. Like you we simply have no other options. Cox refuses to run us a line, no dsl, and I don't think we even have anywhere with FTTH in tucson az.

Yeah, being out in the middle of nowhere has that effect. thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif I have a quick question about the router they supply you, they say it is a 4-port router, but is it wireless, and would I be able to use my own instead of theirs? We have 4 (sometimes 5) computers, two XBox 360's, a kindle Fire, and an iPod Touch that we would like to connect, not using all at the same time, but it would be a hassle to have to unhook one machine to use another on the internet. Also, what are you're download/upload speeds looking like? We are kind of skeptic after hearing you don't get the $250 setup charge refunded if you return it before 10 days...

From what i can gather from their website the system comes with a modem and a 4 port Ethernet router.
It looks like there would be nothing stopping you replacing their router with a wireless router.

Also it might be worth checking their facebook page to find out the experience other customers have recieved with this company.

Yeah, so far I haven't gotten a reply from the FB page. My main concern is the router, I don't know if they have some kind of restriction making you keep to their router. The only reason we haven't ordered it by now is the $250 setup fee, which some say you don't get back if you cancel to service within the 10 day period. Hoping we will give it a try next month, thanks!

After having it for three days, gotta say I am NOT impressed. The first day it was 1Mb/s with a snowstorm outside, now on a perfect day it rarely goes above 20KB/s. We will probably have to shell out even MORE money for a directional anttanna. I'm really sick of living out here in the country. Anyway, I'm back to useing my phone for internet, I can get 1.5 - 1.8Mb/s by tethering it. Gah.

USER BEWARE!!! I fell for the promise of "UNLIMITED" from Broadband Q - they represent Cyberonics who handles the account. They contract with Sprint who just set limits on usage. I had no clue. I came home to NO INTERNET. They shut down my card, and are now trying to pretend it's a technical issue. BS!!!! I'm trying to get my card turned back on, but they are not being cooperative. My bill is paid on time every single month - 85 frapping dollars which isn't cheap when you consider unlimited cable, etc. This is a major rip-off. They got their permits & funding from the federal government to help rural residents, and provide the service for about 8 months, then cut you down to LIMITED. Crooks!!! Steer clear of them.

Yeah, we had no choice. Now we pay $90 a month for internet that can go from 1.4Mb/s to .4Mb/s download, and the ping never goes lower than 150, but normally is 300+. We got flagged as high usage, and they shut our card down and sent us a new one (Why?). I have to wait for Youtube to buffer a 240p video, and I constantly get kicked from games for a high ping. But it's the best we can do until fiber optics comes our way, in about three years, and I go to college in a year. Biggest ripoff ever, but it's the only thing we can use since we use up 30GB+ in a month. Seeing Google Fiber being advertised at 1Gigabit speeds for $120 a month just makes me want to scream haha.. Maybe I should look into a college in Kansas City, MO.... tongue.gif

Same thing here. I bet it's to control & track your usage like AT&T has done. Wonder if it has anything to do with Obama and/or Homeland Security? Pretty scary!! As soon as the MA State Attorney General's office opens at 10 AM, (nice gvt. job), I'm calling in a complaint. Hope you do the same. I spoke to a guy named Chris with Cyberonics this morning - he insisted that I agree with their Terms of Agreement - I said I already agreed with their terms when I signed up with Broadband Q, and the terms were UNLIMITED USAGE - NO CAPS. He became rude, refused to answer my questions when I told him the conversation was being recorded for quality assurance like they do us, and he hung up the phone. He was THE SUPERVISOR!!! I called another number trying to find Corporate Hdqtrs., or someone with authority. I reached a young lady who was polite, but then I could hear the Chris dude in the background!!! Different 800 numbers, but they all ring in to the same place!! She even confirmed it was him. Seems like SCAMMERS to me!!! Not sure what's going on, but it ain't pretty. Wonder how many others are getting their cards replaced. Now remember - all this time Tech support is lying about the problem I'm having. They're not telling me the card was turned off, and when I asked, they denied it. When I called the sales office, and spoke to the young lady, she claims I used 150 GB last month. IMPOSSIBLE. I was on a cruise in Alaska, and my puter was turned off. I haven't even been home long enough to use that much data. They must be lying in order to get customers to change out their cards. Tech support wouldn't help at all. I'm still not online. I'm using my iPad and AT&T unlimited internet. Oh, and Cyberonics will tell you Broadband Q is simply a sales agent - that they're not connected. Cyberonics is the internet provider. Funny how all the numbers ring to the same location!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!
