MSI Radeon HD 6970 Issues

Thread Starter
I recently had my 6970 hooked up in Eyefinity w/ 3x DVI cables and an Active adapter. I rarely used it so I reduced it to just one monitor w/ an HDMI cable. However, when connected this way, it cuts off about 1-2 inches of the screen around the edge which is just black and the display shows up on around 21" of the screen instead of the total 23-23.5". I also am getting sound from the monitor speakers on start-up but not on any of my programs like if I am playing a game or something.

When I connected it to the onboard video on my motherboard w/ HDMI, it utilized the entire screen like it's supposed to but I can't use that as it is extremely weak. The resolution is set to 1920 x 1080 as it's supposed to be so I"m not sure what is wrong. Anyone have any idea of why this is happening?

Thanks!
Gideon

Have you tried resetting the monitor's config through the built-in menus? Checking up on Windows' display settings might be worth it too.

Go to CCC under "My Digital Flat Panel" look for scaling options then set the slider to fill up the desktop and hit "apply".

^ as above, those CCC menus would benefit from better organization. The sound issue though, do you want the sound coming through the monitors? if so then make the HDMI sound output your default sound device in windows (Right click the speaker icon in the notification area, playback, set default to desired device).
