How much Vcore Should I Start for Overclock i7 2600k to 4.5Ghz?

Thread Starter
Hi everyone,
How much voltage should I start with on my vcore to setup a 4.5 Ghz speed? Also I would assume I need to set my LLC on and how does that works and what level should I start with? Level 6? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

First, itd be easier to help if you posted your rig sig. I would start with a Extreme/HIgh LLC & give it 1.35-1.4v.

Wow that sounds like really low voltage for that overclock speed. How about your LLC?

I have the ASROCK Extreme7 board and it LLC is set to 2.

Slight correction on my voltage... in BIOS it is set to 1.29... In windows running CPU-z it is 1.28.

EDIT: Your results may not be the same... every chip / MB can be a little different.

Thanks Doug. Did you make any other changes in your bios. I was reading on the forums and my understanding if I plan to just overclock no higher than 4.5 GHz, i should be able to get it stable just with vcore tweak and LLC set? Thanks for all your input. smile.gif
