Thanks for the info. This might be a stupid question, but can you guys elaborate more about how LLC works. I just know it helps with the vdroop because our boards tend to drop voltage when it is in load. Am i some what correct? rolleyes.gif

You will need to turn off the thermal monitoring or else it will throttle or downclock your CPU. I am not sure where this is on the Gigabyte board you have.

I also turned off all the power saving features since this is just my gaming rig... it is just personal preference though.

I have tested alot of chips and found almost all can hit 4.5 around 1.3~1.35, but YMMV

Turning off thermal/overheat protection isn't needed....

try 1.35V to start with.

We don't have that exact setting in our BIOS so I wouldn't be able to help you on that one. I'm sure someone else could chime in with their experiences with different levels.

Ok. Thanks for all the tips everyone. Please chime in if anyone can offer more guidance with a gigabyte P67 motherboard. I will set my overclock to 4.5 GHz and vcore to 1.35 as a starter as someone mention and runs some test. I probably will try setting my LLC to level 3 and see how that goes.

I was able to get my 2600K for every day use // p95 stable with 1.296v for 4.5 with LLC set at the second lowest setting. Needed to go up to 1.312v for folding stable though *_*. Currently running 1.392v 4.7 so it doesn't BSOD at idle.

Have a look at Sin's UD7 review which was linked above. It is extremely comprehensive and covers absolutely anything and everything you would care to know about overclocking on GB motherboards.

I did take a look at Sin UD7 guide. That is how i kinda got started too. =) So far I got my machine to 4.4 GHz stable i think. I pass IBT in very high setting with 10 pass and prime95 so far for a little over 5 hours. When its at full load vcore is at 3.3-3.4 and idle around 3.6. I set LLC to level 6. My temp actually touch 80 celsuis for the first time. rolleyes.gif...... I do have 212 Hyper + Anything I can do to improve my temp or get up to 4.5 GHz? Thanks everyone for your input so far. thumbsupsmiley.png
