Improvements:
* Middle Mouse Button: I have no idea if they are using a different switch, manufacturing process change, or what have you, but this issue has improved. I am less likely to accidentally depress the button.
Unchanged:
* The "increase dpi button" is still problematic, so I've disabled it, and have changed the "decrease dpi button," to cycle through dpi settings, as a workaround.
Suggested Improvements:
* Find a better location for the dpi buttons, or change switch type, etc.
* Increase scroll wheel size; it's too small (width and length)
* Move scroll wheel forward, i.e., out towards the direction of the cord. Current location makes scrolling a bit uncomfortable.
* The right and left mouse buttons are a little small. Slightly larger surface area would be nice (width, and likely length)
Undecided:
* General size seems small; with the changes above, size might already be right.
* Tilt wheel - can this be added without compromising other mouse functionality?
Overall, I'm pleasantly surprised by this mouse. Would dig seeing Cooler Master make a few changes, to make it even better.
Cheers.
I disagree with most.
The wheel could improve tho, it feels too small and hard to scroll.
The mouse itself is small but it was meant to be like that.
Tilt wheel hell no.

Just got my Spawn from Amazon today.
Love the shape of the mouse and the feel.

BUT:

The scroll wheel is mega hard to scroll.
To scroll in direction away from myself it scrolls quite easy but still stiff.
To scroll towards myself it requires as much force as trying to open a heavy oak door with your finger.

Also, when first thing I noticed on the mouse are the lines on the mouse feet like the mouse was used already. It came packed and everything with manuals and books. The mouse feet had lines on them going parallel to the length of the mouse. There are no other signs of use.

LOD was HORRIBLE at stock but with 32 firmware the LOD is perfect.

Keep in mind that the mouse did not come directly from amazon, but from LLYTech Inc.

Also, I have purchased a SteelSeries QCK+ along with the mouse and I am not quite sure about it. I cannot tell a difference from my 5 year old black cloth mousepad with the cushiony wrist rest from Walmart that cost $5-10.

Hrmmm, well I ordered a Spawn from Amazon a couple of days ago and I believe I will be receiving it from the same company that shipped yours. I'll let you know the condition of mine once it comes in on Monday.

Just to add, also ordered the QcK+ as well. ;p

Nice, I am very interested in what you have to say since our setup is identical. I love this mouse but I really wish the scroll wheel wasn't such a pain to use.

Edit:

Also, let me know what the sticker around your mouse says. For instance, mine says "OPTICAL HIGH PRECISION SENSOR" while every other Spawn I've seen has "3500 DPI STORM TACTICAL SENSOR". I don't know if it makes a difference but I am curious.

The "OPTICAL HIGH PRECISION SENSOR" is for the Xornet, which has the same shell as the Spawn. I guess there might be some instance where the shells got mixed up and you got a Spawn with a Xornet bottom.

in some other thread there was a guy with the same "problem"
it was just the fact that they mixed up the stickers.
i even think a official cm worker answered this question.

In other news my local PC store stopped stocking the Spawn and when I inquired as to why, they say its being discontinued. Has anyone else heard this rumour?

Wondering if I should go out and buy a couple spares for future or if there will be a new revision at some stage?

guys, someone has problems with acceleration? setting a maximum not any different, centimeters paths on the pad are the same whether you go fast or slow, tilting the acceleration only changes the sensitivity, this is very strange ...

Maybe the Recon is its replacement.

I hope not because the shape is not what needs fixing.
