HP Cloud Bash Scripts for fast setup. (F@H, apache and HFM)

Thread Starter
Ok, as there are a lot of folks that are still getting invites, and setting up multiple servers, I wanted to put this thread out there.

I got sick of typing the same commands over and over so I pieced together a few bash scripts for fast setups.
I built these off of Ubuntu 10.10 and I'm too much of a Linux noob to know if they will work in other Distros.

Im storing these on HPs storage container so as long as the Beta is up they should be good.

First off I have to give credit to Hoth17, Digigami and JedixJarf. I cannibalized a lot of their instructions and some codes from them to put these together.

I'm not going to go through setting up and getting into your HP server as there are enough threads of that already.

These first two contain a core hack for bigadv. (if you wish to NOT run bigadv on your 8 core servers there are bash scripts without the core hack below)

For those that wish not to run bigadv 8 Core NON BIGADV bash scripts here (Click to show)
Code:
wget https://region-a.geo-1.objects.hpcloudsvc.com:443/v1/AUTH_1bc8b791-b8a3-4f3c-ab35-f8a9a30fe7e2/no_safe_HAVEN%20Bash/hp_install_smp8
Code:
bash hp_install_smp8
Code:
wget https://region-a.geo-1.objects.hpcloudsvc.com:443/v1/AUTH_1bc8b791-b8a3-4f3c-ab35-f8a9a30fe7e2/no_safe_HAVEN%20Bash/hp_run_smp8
Code:
bash hp_run_smp8
The 4 core bash scripts can be found here (Click to show)
Code:
wget https://region-a.geo-1.objects.hpcloudsvc.com:443/v1/AUTH_1bc8b791-b8a3-4f3c-ab35-f8a9a30fe7e2/no_safe_HAVEN%20Bash/hp_install4
Code:
wget https://region-a.geo-1.objects.hpcloudsvc.com:443/v1/AUTH_1bc8b791-b8a3-4f3c-ab35-f8a9a30fe7e2/no_safe_HAVEN%20Bash/hp_run4

Once in your server you're going to run
Code:
wget https://region-a.geo-1.objects.hpcloudsvc.com:443/v1/AUTH_1bc8b791-b8a3-4f3c-ab35-f8a9a30fe7e2/no_safe_HAVEN%20Bash/hp_install
Then
Code:
wget https://region-a.geo-1.objects.hpcloudsvc.com:443/v1/AUTH_1bc8b791-b8a3-4f3c-ab35-f8a9a30fe7e2/no_safe_HAVEN%20Bash/hp_run
Next run the hp_install bash
Code:
bash hp_install

This will install Fah, run the core hack and install Apache, leaving you at the nano to setup like Jedi shows here. Apache nano screen shots. (Click to show)
It may take you to the bottom of the nano file.
nano.jpg
If it does then just scroll backup to the top.
nanotop.jpg
Change the lines that I circled(ish). The one with the stars needs to be your normal pc's IP. Just google 'whats my ip'.
nanochanged.jpg
Then you are going to run
Code:
bash hp_run

This dumps you into fah at the config.

If you choose to use nohup just ctrl+C onve you have downloaded your first WU and then run
Code:
cd /fah

nohup ./fah6 -smp 8 -bigadv &

Once again if you choose to run nohup just ctrl+C
and then run
Code:
cd /fah

nohup ./fah6 -smp &

Hope these save you all time setting up your servers. thumb.gif

EDIT: There have been many 8 core servers that are not able to do the bigadvs (including 2 of mine) Here is what you need to do to get back to 8 cores if you need to drop down to smp.

If you ran the hp_install bash above and you get a 6903 that wont make the deadline. Stop the client. Run the bash below and restart the client. you will then pick up a normal smp unit when the 6903 finishes.RESTART THE INSTANCE through HP's dashboard. Then re-enter the server in your VM terminal and run the following
Code:
cd /fah

nohup ./fah6 -smp 8 &

Let me run the script and see what i get.

ok you are stuck in the nano screen. THis is nothing more than a teminal text editor.
Here is your fix!!! (Click to show)
Erase everything below /VirtualHost
nano.jpg

Then scroll backup to the top.
nanotop.jpg

Then change the lines that I circled(ish). The one with the stars needs to be your normal pc's IP. Just google 'whats my ip'.

Once you are done press ctrl+X, then Y, then enter.

You somehow did the core hack wrong. i find that entering in both of the commands on the same line is the best way to do it. put a | in between the two lines and it should work fine. As for the problem with only one core being detected the only way to fix that problem that I have found is to restart the server from the HP website and relog back in through SSH after the reboot.
