Internal power supply cord

Thread Starter
Hi I had to fix a Toshiba laptop with a broken internal power supply cable, it is a few years old and has worn out, a new power supply did not fix the problem so I plan to replace the internal male end. I have looked online for the part but cant find a place that carries them. Would radioshack have it? Any help would be appreciated. I can take a picture of it if it would help.

Which model exactly? eBay search for "Toshiba (model # here) AC jack". I believe it's easiest to just replace the AC plug along with the wires attached.

Toshiba l305-s5944. This is what I need but not sure if it would work. I'm guessing they are mostly the same on the same models even if the submodel is different.

It should work. Pretty much every laptop except Macbooks have standard numbering schemes, where the first set of numbers is the model, and the second set is the configuration (ie how much RAM, hard drive size, etc.). And Toshiba/ a lot of companies are good at using compatible AC adapter jack sizes (within their laptops).

Although this is the exact model number match and they're the same price, so you may as well get it to be safe biggrin.gif http://www.ebay.com/itm/AC-DC-POWER-JACK-HARNESS-TOSHIBA-SATELLITE-L305D-S5893-L305-S5955-L305-S5944-/190632617803?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c6296e74b
