Defeated

Ok as hard as it is for me to admit it I can not seem to take my e6700 any higher. Volt mods, new mobos, new bios versions and still can not get above the 4.2 range.

Note I am capped at 1.66 vCore due to vdroop but I saw a guy from Australia hit 4.5 with the same vCore problem...very dissapointed.

Try reducing the vdroop with this

http://translate.google.com/translat...3Doff%26sa%3DG

Basically its saying, pencil in pin 17 & 18 on the chip it showing near the dimm slots

I dont think youv'e hit the max, overclockers never accept defeat

It takes a man to admit that publicly - kudos. If it is any consolation, you got the rest of us wooped!

I'm fairly certain that in the weeks/months to come I am going to see a post by you that says 4.5

I would have thought the basic layout will be the same, however if you look at the picture, and then at your motherboard, if its the same i would definately give it a go

also a few other mods for your board that could be some options

Well I have tried three different boards performed pencil mods and tried every combo in the bios I can think of.

Possibly time for a new e6700...I wish I knew where those guys at XS get there chips.
