Hey guys
As the title says is this possible if I load up the gaming drivers and what sort of results do you get?

Cheers

It would perform like a GTX 550 Ti with 2GB of Vram but that's it. Don't expect much. At best you could probably get 30 FPS at Medium 1080p in BF3 with AA/AF off.

Would be using a 26" TV as monitor and it only does 720p, don't get to game like I used to.

Where did you get the info to say it performs like a 550ti?

If you look on nVIDIA site and compare spec sheets, especially the amount of CUDA cores on the particular cards, and also the memory interface/bandwidth, you'll see pretty much where your card stands in terms of range....

your card seems to have capabilities close to the 550Ti for gaming purposes....you probably could game on a medium/high mix of settings at 720P (not really demanding) in BF3 for exemple....

That being said, I never actually played games on a workstation-grade card....I assume that with the single-slot cooler on that Quadro 4000, a constant gaming load would probably make the fan to spin fast (noisy), and the GPU temps might be a little higher that the gaming equivalent with beefier cooling solutions....you could make a custom fan profile (increase the RPM to get better cooling), IF EVGA Precision or MSI Afterburner are ABLE to access fan control on those cards....

My guess...

Every Quadro card is based off a Geforce card. Just with different amounts of vram and such. In fact it's entirely possible to softmod a Geforce card to a Quadro, ALL it does is enable GPU hardware rendering in professional programs such as 3DSMax (though some programs still don't support the softmod). Gaming performance is THE SAME as its Geforce counterpart.

The Quadro 4000 performance is between a Geforce 550Ti and 560. So not great.

Yea,

a 550Ti with a Geforce 8800GT-like single slot cooler...it's got 2GB of RAM, but the VRAM speed is not much, so the memory bandwidth is not great...
