My motherboard only allows me to add 0.3v onto the original voltage which was 0.964v, so I can only get it 1.264 out of it. redface.gif

I currently have my E8400 @ 4.25GHz and it maxes out at 68 degrees (Think I'll be ordering a Antec Kuhler)
Was playing BF3 for about 30 mins and then I tried to go to windowed mode and my GPU drivers crashed :S
I upped the NB voltage to 1.36v and it hasn't crashed properly yet.

The B3 isn't bad and it sure as hell isn't bad for the price your paying for it. thumb.gif Let's say you can only get 3.2 or 3.4Ghz out of the B3, that's still a hell of an overclock from 2.4.
If it's free, take it. Moar coar = biggrin.gif

But start working towards that I5. The Q is getting old and it's getting tough for it to keep up with these newer games especially with an SLI/CFX configuration. I hate the fact that I have to turn off one of my cards to play BF3.

Yeah I got this E8400 from 3.0 to 3.8 perfectly stable, now at 4.3Ghz and it seems to be stable so far.

I don't fancy having to swap CPU's then try and over clock the Q6600, find it's slower or that I can't tell and then have to put my E8400 back on.. lol tongue.gif

I guess I'll just save for a i5 bundle that is pre-overclocked to save the hassle biggrin.gif

I haven't tried BF3 with just one card but my FPS goes from 30 in mid battle to 80 running around a open area..

If BF3 is crashing or your display driver is "Stopping Responding" something is not stable.

Prime95 for an hour is not really stressing at all. At least 8 hours Small FFTs for the cpu, then 8 hours Blend for the cpu/NB/RAM combo.

Yeah I understand that, but I've been playing BF3 now for an hour or more and it hasn't froze or crashed once. I'll test it more tomorrow and also clean my whole computer from dust - mainly the CPU cooler.
