ASUS K53 Series K53E-B1 came with a 500gb 5400rpm spin drive tho.Swapped that for a Scorpio black, then swapped the Scorpio black 500gb for an Ocz Agility 3 ssd 120gb.( i dont game)
But its got the Intel 3000 graphics... redface.gif I paid 400 for it after BB reward points n stuff.. So good value, shouldve done more research tho..Impulse buy on my part.I assumed that the laptop version of the I5 was QUAD core not dual,so here i was thinking i was getting this super deal.GOOD deal but not amazing..Its weird,i dont game, but i want the discreet graphics just to say i have it..Lol biggrin.gif

For $400 you probably got the best for that price though. I got mine for Christmas, probably the most expensive present ever ($1200) from my mom lol. But I really needed a laptop and she wanted to get me the best she could get. The only thing I could ever upgrade in this is move to an SSD which I can't afford right now.

Thats an amazing present. Thats a totally free score! Thanks MOM! Did she randomly pick that laptop? Or did you ask for that specific one? Is your mom a geek? I wish mine was,my moms the church lady.
Btw,if you got that free, you can upgrade to ssd anytime..Enjoy the free-ness wink.gif Prices are starting to fall on good ssd's anyway..I bet next black friday some crazy deals will come.

Well she went to Bestbuy, I told here what I need. I said "It needs to be at least 17 inches with a quad core processor and it needs to be for gaming" I showed her the exact one too on newegg. I assume she told the Bestbuy guy that and he recommended her a few. I do think this was the best gaming notebook there. She almost poured out $800 more for an Alienware but idk how she would of afforded that. My mom is also a church lady and is always doing stuff for the church, she is no geek lol.

Oh man she set up one hell of a surprise too. She put bricks in one of my christmas boxes to make it seem like there was something heavy is there. Then when I opened it all there was was a bunch of bed sheets and blankets (also a decent present because I needed them lol). She then came out with a laptop box sized wrapped up present and I instantly knew what it was. When I started tearing it open, the first thing I saw on the box was the "Republic of Gamers" logo and I just when bonkers.
