Corsair Link Review and Installation

Thread Starter
So I have two new video's that show the corsair link off.
I think for anyone who likes to manage stuff inside their OS like thermal/fans/lights/pump and such this is pretty awesome.
A bit pricey but still worth checking out!

Thanks folks and please sub!

Thanks for posting this. I have been really wanting to see more info on this product. My current fan controller works, but my 2yr old son keeps messing with the knobs mad.gif

Hey mate, glad it helps. Ya, at least there aren't any knobs for them to play with haha!

Fantstic review and install. You answered many of the questions I had prior to sending the money.

This product is loaded with firmware/software bugs. I truly hope Corsair can get it together, as every time I goto the forums I see alot of people asking questions and the Corsair reps providing very little help. They have continuously stated that they will have an answer soon, or they will release an update soon, but over a month will go by without reply afterwards. I highly advise people to check out the Corsair Link forums and read through the many bugs reported before purchasing this product. I must agree that the concept is very cool, however I personally would recommend to hold off on blowing $100+ USD until they get some of these issues hammered out. I'm starting to get that wierd vibe that they might just abandon this project and leave those of us who spent the money without future support and expansion options.

I say again, wait to buy.

I know this is a late post, but what happens when the computer goes to sleep mode? Do the fans turn off, rev up, or do the fans only operate when the software is active?

What music is that in the background?

Along with the others, I'm digging up an old thread here, but...

Aside from the lighting and ability to 'see' your fan speed from the virtual case, are there any actual cooling benefits from using this software? I recently formatted and didn't bother to reinstall Corsair Link yet, and my temps have been at least as low as they were while using Corsair Link. And, since CL installs a 'USB Driver Dongle' and other driver stuff (that I'd rather not install if I can help it), if there's no inherent cooling benefit, I'd rather not have it.

I should probably create a new thread for this, but just seeing if someone here knows.

I don't think it helps with cooling, it just gives a more software-based way to control fans and lights and such. For example, you can set it so your system turns red when it gets too hot, or cycle through lighting schemes.
