Windows 7 hang/loading issues?

Not really sure what to call this issue I'm having, but it's really bugging me. Windows 7 hangs for good couple of minutes or some other times Windows is none responsive. I'm able to open some programs when this happens and some just don't open at all. When Windows becomes responsive again all the programs I tried opening while being unresponsive load right up and from there on everything is good and runs just fine. Doesn't always come back from being responsive though... Half the time have to reboot.

OS: Windows 7 Home 64 Bit
CPU: i7 2600k @Stock
GPU: GTX 560 Ti
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaw X 16GB (4GBx4) @1600Mhz
MOBO: ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z/GEN3 Z68
BOOT: Crucial M4 128GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB
PSU: SeaSonic 750X Gold

Just bought the ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z/GEN3 Z68 motherboard and a new case was installing Windows for the first time with this motherboard. Used CD that came with motherboard to install drivers. All the other parts besides the motherboard were in my previous build and working just fine.

Also if it helps any I was following Sean's Windows 7 Install guide. I followed most the tweaks in guide, but didn't do any of the registry tweaks.

Edit- With no results
Tested SDD/HDD with HDTune
Booted up in Safe Mode with no problems
Tried Reinstalling Windows
Updated SSD firmware
Ran memtest86 passed

I know this sounds funny but, make sure your bios values are at stock and check the RAM speed and timings are correct. Also, check your SATA settings are correct.

Edit: I see you used the motherboards CD. Don't wink.gif
Go online and get the latest drivers from ASUS website for your motherboard! thumb.gif

May not be a bad idea to run memtest either.

Can you confirm if you have the latest firmware for your SSD drive?

I don't think I am... In Safe Mode right now not getting this problem what so ever. Starting to think it's a driver issue...

Edit: Have the latest firmware install now

Noob question... Does CPU-Z show max core speed without having anything running? I'm idle on my desktop right now and my core speed is at 3.8Ghz.... I thought you needed something running like prime95 or something using CPU usage?
