[PA] Kingdoms Of Amalur Online Pass To Block Single Player Content

It’s one thing to require player’s who purchase their games used to cough up extra moolah in order to access the multiplayer components of a game, it’s quite another to block access to large chunks of the single-player campaign. Well that seems to be exactly what KOA: Reckoning publisher Electronic Arts is doing with their upcoming RPG developed by 38 Studios and Big Huge Games. So I guess we can’t call them an online pass anymore can we?

They are not going to take this lightly, the consolties. tongue.gif

For years they've held their heads high and said "Our games have resell value!'

Well no more!

EA marketing fail.

Just to clarify, this isn't a block to content already on the disc. It's basically a code for free day 1 DLC to "reward" all those who buy the game new. It still must be downloaded. Its a fine line, but worth pointing out.

And its also not a persistent online-drm which requires you to be connected to the internet in order to play, as some people have said. Its just a code.

The PC demo on Steam requires an EA login every time you play afaik. The Origin version is one time.

If people have issue with this policy, stores and potential customers should just not buy the game. I was not too impressed with this game.

Damn you EA. Making this online pass BS.

Of course EA was the first to pull this kind of crap... To be honest i'm suprised it took them this long.
