Fan Controller

Hey guys, I'm looking at buying a HAF X next week, and I'm wanting to get a decent fan controller to go along with it, any suggestions? I just need to be able to hook up at least 4 fans to it. Thanks

I don't really care if it uses knobs or a LCD screen, I just would like a quality fan controller and I don't know anything about them

i would personally only buy lamptron, aquaaero.

but thats just me.

wasted too much money on controllers that look fancy and burn out in less than six months.

It really depends on how many plans you want it run and how much money your willing to spend. If you can give us an idea maybe we can narrow the options down

Your options are rather abundant if those are your requirements. Any fan controller out there that is made by a half decent manufacturer will be able to handle the fans that come with the HAF-X.

Having said that; it is always best to leave room for future upgrades.... Right now you only want to run the four fans that came with the case, but who's to say that you won't develop a liking for more powerful fans in the future?

My favorites:

Lamptron
- Lamptron FC5-V2:
-- 4 Channels
-- Up to 30W per channel. This means you could run all four fans from a single channel and still have plenty of room for more.
-- Nice LCD display with RPM/Temp readouts.
-- Between $60 or $70 depending on where you shop.

- Lamprton Touch
-- 6 Channels
-- Up to 30W per channel. This means you could run all four fans from a single channel and still have plenty of room for more.
-- Very snazzy touch screen for control. It makes for very slick looks without knobs protruding out of the bay.
-- Between $70 and $80 depending on where you shop.

NZXT
- NZXT Sentry 2:
-- 5 Channels
-- Up to 10W per channel. This one is less powerful than the Lamptron controllers, but still more than capable of handling your fan needs.
-- Touch screen control with a very "Trekky" look. Some like it, some don't. I prefer monotone myself so this is not my top choice.
-- Between $20 and $30 depending on where you shop.

- NZXT Mesh:
-- 5 Channels
-- Up to 30W per channel.
-- Very stark looking. No bling, no frills... Just five sliders and done.
-- Between $20 and $30 depending on where you shop.

There are plenty more controller brands out there... Sunbeam, Scythe, Evercool, Logysis, Aerocool, etc... In the end; it all comes down to preference. Just find one that you like (looks) and then search for reviews on it at some of the reputable sites to see if it passes muster.

Hope this helps
Sebas

Sunbeam Rheosmart 6 (about to pull the trigger on it myself)
6 Channel
up to 30w each channel
PWM controll (your mobo can control the speed of the fans)

great reviews on it, you can find it as low as $19 on some sites.
