It is just an opinion. AMD does make loss at this quarter earning.
Quote:
AMD revenue $1.69 billion, flat sequentially and increased two percent year-over-year
• Net loss $177 million, loss per share $0.24, operating income $71 million
• Non-GAAP(1) net income $138 million, earnings per share $0.19, operating income $172
million
• Gross margin 46 percent

AMD isn't stopping their CPU division

The time to change from fabrication processes is just slowing down

Bobcat is staying on the 40nm process till 2013(Where it will then adopt 28nm)
Bulldozer(Bulldozer, Piledriver, Steamroller, Excavator) will be on the 32/28nm process till 2015(Where it will then adopt 22nm/20nm)

(Bobcat)Jaguar, Leopard, Tiger will largely be based on 28nm till 2015 as well

Leopard and Tiger are fake names

Amd are not closing down their CPU division. The quarter loss is a book loss as they wrote down the value of their stake in the Global Foundary Fabrication plants. They actually had a pretty good year, and now that 32nm fabrication process is getting much higher yields they will continue to improve.

Their market share increased in Server space where their opteron 6xxx and 4xxx series is fairly strong and they are looking pretty good in the APU segment. Have even managed to get some uptake of Brazos into the tablet space where their is good potential for growth.

Here is something a little more factual than that idiot on youtube scaremongering.
I didn't watch the video but NO AMD is not stopping CPU/GPU or APU production. Tehcnically GloFo produces the chips in their Fabs but no AMD is not closing shop on ANY of their current products. They may however venture into more areas than they currently serve.

As far as the AMD financials go - as other's have pointed out they did pretty well. They made almost a half Billion in profit even with all the Fab issues at GloFo and TSMC which hurt sales dramatically.

Those who don't understand business and corporate financials should not be making editorial videos or posting inaccurate conclusions online.

28nm until 2015? Jeeez. Intel is apparently 3 years ahead with Ivy Bridge then, and they'll be on 14nm by 2014.

28nm will be FD-SOI for Steamroller and Excavator and the IBM Fishkill SOI Alliance is saying it has the same scaling as 22nm Tri-gate but for much much cheaper
http://www.newsfactor.com/story.xhtml?story_id=81707

28nm FD-SOI = 22nm Tri-gate
In performance and thermals while being cheaper
