Gigabyte provides Crossfire support for Intel 965 motherboards

GIGABYTE HAS announced support for ATI's CrossFire dual graphics technology in its Intel 965 motherboards, including the GA-965P-DQ6, GA-965P-DS4 and GA-965G-DS4.
The boards, which are designed to support the Intel Core2 Duo processor, are being targeted mostly at gamers.

With support for ATI CrossFire, the cards can provide multi-GPU support with dual PCI Express connectivity. It means better 3D rendering, faster frame rates and enhanced visual quality with a dual graphics cards.

So I am guessing they'll have them run at x8,x8 in Crossfire mode, instead of at the currrent x16,x4 (which I think it is now)

I think that could be the case. However not all to sure on that.

I dont think they can... the second slot (though looking like a x16) is phisically pinned only for a 4x.

Well if its Pinned as a 4x slot as said then it would only have a bus bandwidth of a 4x slot thus working at 4 x speeds.

That's the current versions.
Maybe this is going to be a new revision with a somewhat different architecture?
