With 15% tax, that leaves about $260 CAD total before taxes. eek.gif

And here I thought 9.25% is hideous. Does you budget allow MIR?

MIR included is fine, I'm the one paying so its ok... wanted to keep it cheaper if possible with $300 being the absolute max I'd let it slip for... and an A series APU build would justify going to the max for me.

Dislike prebuilts, plus a Pentium is low quality and prebuilts usually use low quality parts... Your better off with barebones kits most often, which isn't saying much.

Also don't need OS or periphs, but thanks for the suggestion. Any and all input is welcomed!

Nova Scotia charges 15% for tax!?  Wow, that's pretty high.... considering 12% here in BC and I thought that's high.
You could downgrade to a dual core A4 APU and possibly get the SSD that's half the size (i.e. 32GB) and it may put you within budget.

EDIT: That 32GB is out of stock.  Looks like your next best choice t o reduce cost is perhaps an Athlon II x2/x3 with a lower end ~880G motherboard - which will sacrifice a lot of GPU power but not HD video playback.

I'll check the price diff of the A4. I dunno, I might hit up my bro or sis to chuck in some $$ and pull of that triple core APU build, looks sweet.

How about:
Gigabyte A75M-S2V mATX AMD FM1 A75 2PCI-E16 1PCI-E1 1PCI DDR3 DVI SATA3 USB 3.0 Mothe *IR-$20*
$79.99

Crucial CT2KIT25664BA1339 4GB 2X2GB PC3-10600 DDR3-1333 240PIN DIMM Dual Channel Memory Kit
$18.99

Apex DM-317 mATX HTPC Case Silver Black 1X5.25 1X3.5 1X3.5INT 275W Low Profile Front *IR-$5*
$37.67

AMD A6-3500 APU W/ AMD Radeon 65XX HD GFX Triple Core Processor Socket FM1 2.1GHZ 3MB 65W Retail Box
$84.53

OCZ Vertex Plus 60GB 2.5IN SATA2 Indilinx Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
$83.72

Is that mobo and SSD good choices? I know nothing about FM1 or SSD's. This puts me a bit over what I wanted my max to be, but I'm sure I can squeeze the siblings for the change. Thanks so far for all the help.

Unless someone can think of a build thats better for under $328.31 taxes incl, shipped, and all from one retailer hassle free.

You are good. The SSD is not the fastest, but certainly will be a jump compared to HDD.

I'm not too familiar with CAD price, however, after some research the closest one is Crucial M4. It is priced at $110. Unfortunately I can't find one around $90. For $84, that OCZ SSD is still a good deal.
